Our winery is a state of the art building designed to process 5,000 cases of wine each year. The electrical system is complex, engineered to operate both European and US equipment. It has a computer controlled chilling system that regulates temperatures in each tank as well as the barrel room and finished wine storage. The insulation is so effective that parts of the facility do not need a heating system.

The winery is built on the footprint of an old barn that dated back to the 1800's. Because of the historical value, the amazing beams and wide flooring we wanted to use the building as our winery. However, after consulting with Blue Ridge Design and their engineer we learned that the barn was not salvageable. Unfortunately there had been too many years of neglect and too many termites. So we saved what we could and the winery was built on the same place using the barn hill as a walkway to our old tasting room. The flooring that was usable was recovered and the foundation stones were used in the wall built on each side of the old tasting room entrance. |
