As a grape grower and winemaker, I'm excited to make a large variety of different wines. I try different techniques, with with different clones of different varietals on different rootstocks, different barrels and different yeasts at different temperatures. And it is my job to tastes wines every day from hundreds of barrels and dozens of tanks. Sometimes shortly after breakfast.
But as a wine consumer, none of this is enough for me! I want to not only dive into all the things listed above, but I want to see what different winemakers are doing as well. So on the first Friday of every month, from December through April, we'll be hosting friends and inspirations of mine to pour their wines in the Bluestone Tasting Room until 8 PM. Some of these winemakers have tasting rooms that are pretty far away, and some of them don't even have tasting rooms and you need to know where to look for them. But all of them are highly respected in the world of Virginia Wine, and people to whom you'll want to lend your ears and palates.
Come have a flight and hear their stories about where the grapes are grown, how the wines are made, where else in the world they've worked, and go home with some bottles that are only available in our tasting room for one night only.
